I know the blog hasn't had an update for a while but we have been getting ready for the CHA SUMMER 07 release as well as our very first CHA SHOW!! We are very excited about coming to the CHICAGO show and would love to meet everyone - so if you are heading down make sure you come and say HI! We'll be at BOOTH # 4405.
Hi everyone.
The first step by step here on the Urban Lily blog will be a how to construct the Urban Cut Mini Books. There are two mini book sheets available, a black and white Mini Book and the brightly colored version, which I'm using below.
Cut out the cover and pages, cutting along the SOLID lines:
You will have five little double pages and a long strip which will become the cover:
Fold each page in half:
Now, this is where I constructed the book a little differently to the instructions on the sheet. Stick the pages together to create an accordion style book. Only use adhesive along the edges of the pages:
Fold the cover in half:
Find the middle page, and match the fold of this page with the fold (spine) of the cover:
Punch a hole through both the page and the cover layers:
Punch another hole. You now have the two holes needed to thread the ribbon which will hold your book together:
Thread a length of ribbon through the two holes:
Turn the book over, and tie a bow (quite tightly) along the spine of the book:
Finished:
On one of my little books I used a Basic Grey Magnetic Tie Back with a short length of ribbon to hold the book closed:
